0VER 20 STUDENTS OF HOIMA SCHOOL OF NURSING CRITICALLY INJURED IN MOTOR ACCIDENT

KIKUUBE: More than Twenty students of Hoima school of Nursing and midwifery including two tutors have been rushed to Hoima Regional referral hospital in critical condition after being involved in a serious motor accident in Kikuube district. The students got involved in the accident on Sunday morning at around 9a.m in Nyarongo village,Kaseeta parish Kabwoya sub county Kikuube district as they were returning from a field practice in Kyangwali sub county in Kikuube district. They were traveling in their school bus registration number UAY 170H when they got involved in the accident. 
The school bus was carrying over 60 students at the time it was involved in the accident but other students sustained minor injuries.
A nurse at Hoima regional referral hospital who spoke to ugreports.com on condition of anonymity explains that the injured students are responding well to treatment. ‘’Most of the students sustained injuries in the chests, hands, heads, legs and face among other body parts adding that they are closely monitoring their condition,’’ she explains. 
In an interview with www.ugreports.com, John Tibenda, an eye witness said that the bus mysteriously veered off the road and overturned injuring the students. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has confirmed the accident but could not readily give more details and particulars of the injured students adding that investigations have commenced to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
‘’The driver and the conductor whose particulars are yet to be established also sustained injuries and that they are also admitted at Hoima regional referral hospital,’’ He asserted. Efforts to get a comment from the school Principal, Mark Kalanzi were futile as his known mobile telephone contacts could not go through.
