15 ARRESTED OVER THEFT OF RAILWAY METALS

BUKEDEA: The joint security force of Uganda police force and Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF), over the weekend arrested a total of 15 thugs stealing the railway metals in Acibu cell, Kongoidi ward, Kongunga town council in Bukedea district.

Geoffrey Okiswa, the resident district commissioner Bukedea who doubles as head of security in the district confirms this saying the arrested thugs were netted while loading the railway metals into the truck Reg No. UAZ 198G both foreigners from Busoga, Luka, Iganga and Mayuge.

Okiswa also added that out of the fifteen arrested, five were injured by gun fire as they were trying to resist the arrest.

”The police force and UPDF injured five and they were all taken to Mbale referral hospital,” said RDC Okiswa.

However, Okiswa cautioned the public to be vigilant and report any kind of visitors in the area to the local council authorities.
