BULIISA: An 18-year-old man on Wednesday committed suicide by hanging in his relative`s house in Kamagongolo landing site in Walukuba Parish, Butiaba sub-county, Buliisa District.
The deceased, identified as Jimmy Jakisa, is a son of Lilian Pacuryema and Udongo residents of Kasenyi Lyato Buseruka sub-county, Hoima District.
According to residents, the deceased has been staying with his uncle, identified as Oscar Muhammad, a resident of the Kamagongolo landing site, where the incident happened.
We couldn’t get a comment from Muhammad since he wasn’t ready by press time.
Mr. Kazini Sedrick, the chairperson, confirmed the incident, saying that it happened at around 7 a.m.
The area chairperson disclosed that the deceased has been depressed with a continuous illness, which she suspects to be the main cause of the incident.
Attempts to reach Buliisa district police commander SP John Mwaule for comment were futile since several calls made to him went unanswered.
