MASINDI: Suspected goat thief in his mid-20s was Tuesday morning hacked to death by angry residents of Biizi and Binyinya in Nyangahya Division Masindi Municipality Masindi district. The gruesome incident happened at 1am.

According to residents who spoke to ugreports.com at the scene, the deceased who was with his two colleagues had stolen two goats before the owner woke up and made an alarm that attracted the neighbours.

During the cat and rat game, his colleagues escaped with two goats on the motorcycle whose number plate wasn’t marked since it was dark and the yet to be identified thief exchanged his life for two goats.

John Barungi, a resident, told ugreports.com that fully charged residents descended on the suspect, killing him instantly with the third goat belonging to the area LC1 chairperson.

Charles Oda advised fellow residents to rear dogs since they are of great importance in alerting people in case of any detected danger mostly in the wee hours.

By press time police were seen at the scene but not ready to comment on the matter.
