ARUA: The race for guild president at Arua Technical Institute-Ragem in Arua City attracted four candidates for the position.
According to the institution electoral commission roadmap, the electoral process started with the advertisement of the elective positions, vetting of the interested candidates by the committee instituted by the institution electoral commission chairperson.
Four candidates expressed interest in the position of the guild president.
They include Ijjo Samuel, Azamuke Sebastian, Indrionzi Joachim and Yasiri Yusuf.
In the hotly contested seat, Warem Herbert the chairperson electoral commission Arua technical institute-Ragem declared Ijjo Samuel as the winner with 192 votes, closely followed by Azamuke Sebastian with 190 votes while in the 3rd position was Indrionzi Joachim and Yasiri Yusuf came last.
The guild presidents elect Ijjo Samuel Expressed happiness after his victory and promised to unite and work with all the opponents for the betterment of the institution.
The total numbers of 403 students were expected to participate in the elections however some did not.
Guild elections at Arua technical Institute – Ragem are always organized after every year to get capable leaders within the institute.
