KAMPALA: Promoter Balaam Baruhagara says that Ugandans shouldn’t celebrate the retirement of Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the commander of Land Forces of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces {UPDF}.

On Tuesday afternoon, Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, through his Twitter handle, announced his retirement after 28years of service.

“After 28years of service in my glorious military, the greatest military in the world, I’m happy to announce my retirement,” Muhoozi Tweeted.

Though the first son has announced his retirement, Balaam insists that he will seek permission from the inspector general of government to permit them to hold demonstrations in all cities to force Muhoozi back to the army.

”I will seek permission from the IGP to permit us to hold demonstrations in all cities to force Muhoozi back to the army, we shall also ask CIC not to allow that early retirement,” said Balaam.

According to Balaam, Muhoozi has uncompleted tasks he needs to finish first. ”No to abrupt retirement. Best Generals don’t retire at below 50,” he noted.

”Me and my soldiers have achieved so much! I have only love and respect for all those great men and women that achieve greatness for Uganda everyday,” said Muhoozi.

The first son, now Lieutenant General in the army, has served twice as the commander of the special forces Commander (SFC) , an elite unit of the army in charge of protecting the president and his family.
