BANYATEREZA LEADS WAY IN 2022 AFRIYEA INTER-SCHOOLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP IN UGANDA

FORT PORTAL: The inaugural Inter-school Golf championship got off to a roaring start at Toro club in the serene Fort Portal in Western Uganda.
The intent of the tournament was aimed at introducing golf to the grassroots level by providing access to all the children from different walks of life to play the game in pursuit of diversity, inclusion and Equity.
The tournament “theme” was to enable the youngsters to self-actualize through all round opportunities provided by the game golf and education.
10 schools participated in interschool championship with a representation of 216 children both new junior golfers and existing from different schools where AFRIYEA golf Academy has a juniors program.
Pre- Primary and primary schools both private and public schools turned up in big numbers to unleash the children’s hidden golf abilities.
The tournament was officiated by Fort Portal city Inspector of schools for Fort Portal Mr. Patrick Ategeka who commended AFRIYEA golf Academy for the good job done in growing the game of golf in schools.
The championship has seen amazing results as hundreds of pupils have been given a chance to play the sport that has been dominated by high class citizens.
Banyatereza Golden Golden Jubilee tied in the first position with Tooro parents education which called for a play off to determine the overall winner.
Elijah Kamanzi representing Banyatereza Golden Jubilee edged his friend Paul Kalenzi of Tooro Parents to win a trophy for Banyatereza Golden Jubilee.

APTITUDE TEST which was aimed at testing the ability of children to perform different tasks and react to situations either on the course or at school. This can further include analytical thinking, mathematics, problem-solving, prioritisation amongst other things.
