LIRA: The newly installed Bishop Elim of Penteconstal Church for northern Uganda Julius Peter Eyit has Friday received a brand new vehicle and 10million shillings from the Government of Uganda.

They were delivered by Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja the Prime Minister of Uganda.

In his message delivered by the Prime Minister Robinah Nabanja during the installation of the new bishop of Elim Pentecostal Church for northern Uganda Julius Peter Eyit Friday, at Lira City Mayors Garden, President Museveni said religious leaders should not just dwell on the pulpit but mobilize the masses to take up different projects to enhance their livelihood.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni also asked religious leaders to compel their parishioners to embrace development projects in a bid to improve their lives, as opposed to only preaching the gospel.

Museveni said that much as the government is working hard to improve infrastructures like schools and health facilities, most Ugandans are still languishing in poverty which calls for their need to embrace poverty alleviation programs like parish development model to enhance their livelihood.

Museveni asked them to also instill a culture of honesty, respect for human rights; unity and corruption fight among the youth for the development of the country.


President Museveni donated a pajero sports vehicle to aid the work of the new Bishop meanwhile the office of the Prime Minister donated 10 Million shillings.

The General overseer of Elim Pentecostal mission in Uganda Fredrick Makaa installed Bishop Julius Peter Eyit who until his installation was Reverend of Kirombe Elim church and will replace Bishop Tom Ibrahim Okello who has been leading the church in Northern Uganda since its establishment
