BUKEDEA: Authorities in Bukedea district have confirmed that the district has finally recruited a qualified district health officer who is to overtake the office from the acting district officer who has worked for many years acting.
Bukedea has been having the acting district health officer since 2006 to date whereby the district environmental health officer Stephen Ikodet acted as the district health officer.
During the handover of the office on Thursday to the newly recruited district health officer Emmanuel Okalany, Stephen Ikodet will resume back to its normal appointment duties of district environmental health officer.
Maira Joseph Mukasa, the chief administrative officer Bukedea who witnessed the handover said the recruited officer delayed to assume the office and the handover from the old acting officer because the officer requested time to prepare himself and look for the accommodation for his family.
“I want to respond to the false social media information that Bukedea leaders have blocked the newly recruited DHO from accessing the office, which is wrong, we conducted the recruitment and the officer was given the appointment”, said Mr. Mukasa.
