BUKEDEA: Residents of Bukedea district are mourning the death of Bukedea Rotary and Rotaract clubs president.
Albert Koffman died of high blood pressure at international hospital Kampala on Saturday night.
The two clubs were preparing for the installation of the president to replace Koffman which was to take place on July 16th, 2022.
The preparations have since been put on hold as the residents and club members mourn his death.
Martha Agwang, the new president elect described the late deceased as a very hard working and committed person who did a tremendous job in improving education and health services in Bukedea district.
“We as a club and Bukedea district at large have lost a very important person, it is a big blow to us but have nothing to do since it is God who gives and takes”, said Agwang.
Hundreds of persons with disabilities in the district who have been studying under the sponsorship of the deceased are in now in dilemma as they are not sure of continuing with their education after his death.
The deceased also purchased a blood fridge for Bukedea health centre, renovated its maternity ward, and distributed mosque nets to schools among other interventions in Bukedea district.
Koffman’s body is still in Mbale city mortuary pending its burial at his ancestral home in Chodong parish in Kidongole Sub County in Bukedea district on July 12th, 2022.
