BUNYANGABU CAO, KASESE PRINCIPAL HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER ARRESTED OVER CORRUPTION

KASESE: Bunyangabu district Chief Administrative Officer- CAO Masereka Amis Asuman has been arrested over allegations of corruption.
Masereka was arrested together with the Kasese district Principal Human Resource Officer Bihanikire Samson on Monday by the Police in conjunction with the State House Anti Corruption Unit and later arraigned before the Anti Corruption Court.
They are being accused of abuse of office and causing financial loss to the government of the republic of Uganda. The particulars of the offences are that the duo reinstated six teachers onto the government payroll after they had resigned for politics.
Their act is said to have cost the government an estimated over 20 million shillings over time.
They were later released on bail and are expected to continue reporting to the court regularly.
Masereka was the CAO for Kasese district until his transfer to Bunyangabo mid November last year.
