HOIMA: The Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister Andrew Byakutaga has cautioned the Kikuube health center IV medical personnel to carefully handle the newly handed over incubator machine and use it for its purpose.
Byakutaga cautioned the medical personnel while handing over the incubator machine on Friday after the empango marathon.
He therefore asked the medical personnel at the health center to protect the machine well and use it for its purpose for the betterment of the region.
The Kikuube District Woman Member of Parliament, Florence Natumanya, said the machine is going to help mothers who have the challenges of having premature babies.
‘’The machine will also help to decongest Hoima regional referral hospital with cases of premature babies,’’ she said.
The Buhaguzi East Member of Parliament, Steven Aseera Itaza, revealed that as a district, they would not manage to raise the money for the machine, thus appreciating the sponsors for their good work, and to them as kikuube, it’s a dream come true.
Dr. Joseph Ruyonga, the member of parliament for Hoima West City Division, called upon women to always deliver from hospitals because if one gets a premature baby, it’s easier to save life than delivering from home, and at the end, the baby either dies or gets infections.
Fred Byenkya, who represented the director of Spice FM, the main organizer of empango marathon in partnership with the Kingdom, said that the incubator cost 2,000 dollars.
He noted that this was the 6th Empango run and commended the Kingdom subjects for supporting the run by buying the kits, which enabled them to raise the money to buy the machine.
