BUNYORO: Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom(BKK) in partnership with Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) and Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) have registered 136 individuals and Companies on National Suppliers Database (NSD) and National Oil and Gas Talent Register (NOGTR).

Last week, BKK teamed with PAU and UNOC in mobilizing and registering individuals and companies in Hoima City and Hoima district who are interested in taking up oil and gas opportunities.

116 individuals registered on the National talent register while 20 companies registered on the National supplier data base.

The registration was intended to expose individuals and companies to jobs and contracts in the oil and gas sector.

It is a requirement for each company seeking contracts in the oil sector to be registered with the National supplier data base of PAU.

The registration is one of the interventions by BKK to support Kingdom subjects to meet requirements to accessing opportunities in the oil industry.


The Kingdom administration is implementing a directive by His Royal Majesty Dr Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I, the Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom to lay strategies of making oil a blessing to his people.

The demand for direct oil opportunities to the Kingdom subjects was presented by the BKK Prime Minister Owek. Andrew Byakutaga to the Board members of UNOC and PAU who paid a courtesy call on him between October to December last year.

BKK is pleased that the proposals have started being implemented with a registration of individuals and companies on the National Supplier data base and talent register which kicked off on Monday 7th March up to 11th March 2022 at BKK offices.

A similar registration exercise was conducted at Nyamasoga trading center in Hoima district on 12th March 2022.

The registration exercise is ongoing in Masindi district municipality.

BKK will work with PAU and UNOC to extend a similar registration exercise in other parts of Bunyoro.

What is NSD?

The National Suppliers’ Database (NSD) is an online platform for registering all potential suppliers of the Uganda’s oil and gas sector and a tool for regulating the procurement of goods and services in the sector. The NSD system was put in place in 2017 and has continued to evolve over time.

What are the requirements for registration on the NSD?

-Proof of legal status and name: submission of an authentic and valid Certificate of Incorporation and/or registration.

-Submission of authentic, valid and up to date information on the shareholding and management of the company or entity.

-Good market conduct, for example, there should be no reported cases of blacklisting of the company or entity or person applying for registration.

-Good liquidity status.

-Proof of compliance with tax and social security requirements.
-Valid banker’s reference letter.

-Proof of nationality, tax registration, expertise and a report of good conduct by the Police for applications of the natural persons.

-All documents submitted should be in English or where necessary translated to English.

What is NOGTR?

The National Oil and Gas Talent Register (NOGTR) is an e-government information management system that registers Ugandans who have the required skills, experience, abilities and expertise to work in oil and gas sector. The system also registers employers who want to hire talent to work in the oil and gas sector.

Registration requirements for talent (manpower)
-National ID
-Valid email address
-Original/certified copies of the academic documents (NOT result slips).
-Updated curriculum vitae (CV)

National Suppliers Database and National Oil and Gas Talent Register system is managed and operated by the Petroleum Authority of Uganda and registration on is free of charge.
