DOKOLO: A couple in Dokolo District has burnt down their household property following prophesy made by their church leader directing them to burn whatever they have since they were going to receive ‘new wealth’, according to VoL.

Michael Obang the LC2 chairman of Apenyo weo parish said  Bene Calvine and his wife Sandra Bene who are residents of Atama B’ burnt down their property which included clothes, chicken, goats and pots among others inside their house.

This was after their church leader Julius Odur told them that the holy spirit had revealed to him, that the couple should destroy what they have and wait for better things coming up for them.

Obang said they informed police of Aburawak police outpost about the matter and Sandra Bene was arrested but her husband fled.

Obang warned people against believing in false prophesy from some religious leaders.

Pastor Julius Odur according to report used to pray from Apenyo-weo Church of Uganda but resorted to conducting prayers within communities during the coronavirus pandemic and has continued with his ministry in Ayet-ayet A village, Apenyo-weo Parish in Okwongodul Sub County.

Effort to speak to Odur Julius was futile as his phone was switched off by press time.
