EIGHT GUNS RECOVERED IN KARAMOJA

KARAMOJA: More eight guns with 268 rounds of ammunition have been recovered in various parts of Karamoja sub region in the last one week.

This follows the intensified operations by the joint security teams of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces {UPDF} and the Uganda Police {UP}.

According to the Karamoja regional police spokesperson, Mike Longole, the recent recoveries bring the total number of guns recovered to 162 plus 1754 ammunition.

Longole says eight Karimojong warriors were put out of action while two civilians were killed and three sustained gun injuries.

The police mouthpiece also disclosed that different ASTU zones registered 12 separate raids involving 350 heads of cattle and 69 goats.

He however says 198 cattle were recovered including 44 goats as security forces track the remaining animals.
