ELDERS ADVISED TO REGISTER FOR SAGE

KAKUMIRO: Elders in the Kisiita town council Kakumiro district who are not registered for Social Assistance Grants for Empowerment (SAGE) have been advised to register themselves if they are to benefit from the program.
Abdulkarim Niwamanya the Community Development officer at Kisiita town council advised the elders who are 80 years and above to embrace the program as it targets their age bracket.
The call was made on Monday at Kisiita town council headquarters during the SAGE registration exercise.
Niwamanya advised those who failed to turn up for exercise to prepare the required documents for the next phase in the future.
Meanwhile the Kisiita town council elderly chairperson Emmanuel Manoti applauded those who came for the exercise and also advised the beneficiaries to always invest the money in developmental projects that can raise their income.
67 elders were registered yesterday.
