ELEPHANT KILLS FOREIGNER IN MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

MASINDI: Bashir Hangi the communications manager Uganda Wildlife Authority {UWA} has identified the deceased as Ayman Sayed Eishahany a Saudi Arabian national.
Hangi explains that the deceased together with his three colleagues were travelling in a toyota Wish moto vehicle number UBJ917C from Masindi transiting through Murchison Falls National Park to Arua.
He explains that they stopped along the way and the deceased went out of the car. An elephant charged at him killed him on the spot. The incident happened yesterday at around 11am.
”We have reported the matter to Pakwach police and we will work closely with the police to ensure that this matter is investigated fully,” he asserts.
The communications manager appeals to the public to especially those transiting through protected areas to take precautions and avoid putting themselves in harm’s way.
”In the meantime, we are also reviewing our safety protocols to enhance them to avoid a repeat of such incidents. We assure the public that our parks remain safe to all visitors,” he notes.
