BULIISA: A herd of elephants on Monday evening killed a 15 year old boy in Kataleba village Bugana Parish Buliisa sub county Buliisa district.

David Byenkya the area chairperson, confirms the incident, saying it happened on Monday at around 6pm when the deceased identified as Emmanuel Abdu was grazing the family goats.

The area chairperson explains that the herd of elephants were pursued from Waiga II village, and on reaching Kataleba, they trampled Abdu killing him instantly.

Byenkya told our reporter that he has several times written to the Uganda Wildlife Authority over the elephants invading their area but they have never got any response.

”They came back last night, residents have sleepless nights due to the invasion of elephants,” he told ugreports on Wednesday.

When we contacted Bashir Hangi the communications manager Uganda Wildlife Authority said that he was out of office therefore couldn’t avail us with the details pertaining to the incident.
