EMYOOGA BENEFICIARIES WARNED AGAINST PDM

By Pascal Onega

BULIISA: The State Minister for Microfinance, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, has warned Emyooga program beneficiaries against involving themselves in the Parish Development Model (PDM).

Speaking to Emyooga SACCO leaders in Buliisa District headquarters last week during the monitoring of the Emyooga program, Kasolo said Emyooga beneficiaries should leave PDM funds to other people, saying there are some people whom you find today in this and tomorrow in that.

Kasolo disclosed that once Emyooga beneficiaries involve themselves in PDM, they will be arrested, saying PDM is for the poor.

He however gave the Emyooga defaulters 14 days to pay back the fund and directed the district commercial officer to list all the names of defaulters so that they do a follow-up.

‘’Emyooga defaulters should pay back the fund within 14 days, and the district commercial officer should list all the names of defaulters so that they do a follow-up,’’ he directed.

The minister added that, once they fail to pay back, their names will always be read by every presenter on a local radio station so that they get ashamed and, as a result, they will be traced and arrested.
