BULIISA: The Resident District Commissioner Buliisa Mr. Byaruhanga Stephen Mfanshingabo has expressed concern over the district’s delay to give out money for Emyooga to the respective groups saying it is hindering development in the area.

Appearing on the air waves of a local radio station in the oil rich Buliisa district on Thursday evening, Mfashingabo blamed the district focal person for failure to mobilize the community to form emyooga groups and giving them right information which will enable them to benefit from the project.

This follows a report from the MicroFinance Support Center who revealed to the resident district commissioner that Buliisa district failed to submit groups qualifying for Emyooga.

However, the district presidential representative wonders why journalists failed to form their group yet they are the people who have first-hand information about the project.

Responding to the RDC`s allegation, the chairperson of the Buliisa Journalists emyooga group Zephania Ikiriza told ugreports that they formed the group but they were disappointed by the district emyooga focal person who claimed their group had few members.

”We formed the group, but we were disappointed by the emyooga focal person who claimed that our group has few members therefore we don’t qualify to form emyooga sacco yet we were over twenty members,” Ikiriza asserted.

According to Ikiriza, there is need to inform the public on the right office in-charge of emyooga project so that every group benefits.
