BULIISA: Excitement has been cited among the market vendors in Buliisa district after shifting to the newly constructed Biiso Modern Market in Biiso Town Buliisa district.

The vendors who have been operating on open space land donated by the former Buliisa County Member of Parliament Stephen Birahwa Mukitale for over nine months have Friday shifted to the newly constructed market.

In February last year, the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development started implementing the second component of Albertine Region Sustainable Development Project {ARSDP}, and contracted Techno Three Uganda Ltd, Ps Construction to construct Biiso market and two others.

The contractor was expected to complete work by December last year but there were some delays.

The site manager of Biiso Modern Market Moses Odongo, said that handing over would be done early this year but due to the delays of construction materials have contributed to delay on reopening.

Recently the former Member of Parliament for Buliisa County Stephen Birahwa Mukitale asked the vendors to vacate his piece of land since he also wanted to develop it.

Vendors who spoke to ugreports expressed their happiness and revealed that they can now operate despite weather changes.
