MASINDI: On Tuesday night, fire broke out at Kabalega secondary school in Masindi Municipality Masindi district.

According to a staff who spoke to ugreports on condition of anonymity, the incident happened at around 7p.m. ”The fire broke out from the ceiling of Lumumba Hall, however, it was put off by students using fire extinguisher before spreading further,” he asserted.

The source also told this online news outlet the police fire brigade arrived the scene in time but students had already put off the fire.

”We suspect the main cause of fire to be electricity, however, no causality has been registered nor property destroyed by fire since it was put off in time,” he disclosed.

Efforts to get a comment from Mr. Andrew Tumwesige the school headteacher was futile by the time of publication since he didn’t respond to our repeated phone calls.
