FORT PORTAL: RCC BAMUHA CRACKS DOWN ON CRIMINAL GANGS

Over 30 hardcore criminals were arrested and transferred to the North Division Police Command.

FORT PORTAL: The Fort Portal North Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner Allan Bamuha on Monday cracked down on a drug cartel which has been operating as a transit center for opium and Marijuana.

The drug operation hub/cell was stationed at Karago Centre along Kasese road.

It has been a centre of Marijuana and Opium wholesale point to as far as Congo, Kisenyi Kampala as well as South Sudan

According to security observation, the cartel has got financiers from as far as Kampala City who heavily finances the growing of the same illicit crops

Over 30 hardcore criminals were arrested and transferred to the North Division Police Command.

A good number of Marijuana and other illicit drugs were recovered. Dangerous objects like pangas and others were also recovered

Bamuha explains that the hunt for the criminals who murdered a one Aheebwa in the same area and the arrested continues to give good leads.

According to him, Karago and Butebe Wards are the heavily infested areas with criminality and lawlessness in the entire North Division.
