FOUR ARRESTED OVER ROBBERY IN KANUNGU

KANUNGU: Police in Kihihi have arrested four suspects out of six who allegedly broke and robbed unspecified amount of money from Beer depot.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region spokesperson identified the suspects as David Kigozi a resident of Namungoona cell, Lubya parish, Rubaga division in Kampala district, Anacelete Ngabirano a resident of Kafunjo village, Kashambya parish, Rukiga district, Rajab Kigongo from Mbarara and Albert Amanya from Kashambya in Rukiga district.
It’s alleged that on the 24th/01/2022 at around 03:00hrs at Rugoma trading company a beer company found in Kihihi town council, unknown thugs broke, and robbed unspecified amount of money.
It’s further alleged that the two guards were first sprayed with unknown substances which made them unconscious and slept off.

The robbers gained access into the building by cutting the padlocks where they entered and carried the safe containing money which was later abandoned after removing the money.
Sources from the company have confirmed that there was only four hundred thousand shillings (400,000) UGX left in the safe after they banked the rest on 24th January 2022
The Kigezi region police spokesperson also said that they have recovered three master keys, four National IDs in the names of the suspects arrested, hammers, and pliers.
The case was registered at Kihihi Police Station under reference number SD 02/24/01/2022 to help in further investigations as the hunt for the two suspects continues.
