FOUR CHILDREN KNOCKED DEAD IN SEMBABULE

SEMBABULE: Eight children who were coming from St. Gonza Gonzaga catholic parish in Sembabule town council to learn Cathicist have been knocked by a speeding Toyota wish vehicle registration number UBJ 517L along Sembabule-Gomba road in Sembabule district leaving four of them dead

The accident has occurred in Sembabule town council on Saturday 16th July.

The car that knocked the children dead was heading to Gomba from Sembabule town at the time it got involved in the accident.

Police has only identified the deceased as Namata Winnie Babirye Sylvia, Nalubega Joan and Nabadda Macklin who are suspected that they were aged between 12 and 16 years.

Other four are who got injuries were rushed in Sembabule health center IV and Masaka referral hospital respectively in critical condition

Those who are nursing injuries include Nanyonga Milly 12, Nabayengo Noeline 12, Nandange Christine

According to Alex Asiimwe any eye witness disclosed that the driver seemed to be with the intention why he knocked the innocent souls before abandoning the vehicle at the accident scene.

The southern region police spokesperson Muhamadi Nsubunga said that traffic police from Sembabule rushed to the accident scene, picked the lifeless bodies of the children and those who had got injuries and transported them to Sembabule health center IV.

Muhamadi Nsubunga added that preliminary police investigations show that the crash was caused by over speeding by the driver and police is currently hunting for the driver who is on the run but arrested one person identified as Amisi Musa from Kasese district who was found in the car.

Traffic police towed the wreckage of the vehicle to Sembabule central police station.
