FOUR INMATES ESCAPE FROM PAKWACH CUSTODY

A case of escape from lawful custody was registered at Pakwach Police Station under CRB 08/2023.

PAKWACH: Police in Pakwach district are hunting four prisoners who escaped from lawful custody on Tuesday at around 7:39pm.

The West Nile Region Police Spokesperson Josephine Angucia said this occured after a court session at Pakwach grade one magistrate court when prisoners were boarding the prison truck at the court premises.

She identified the escapees as Otoyrwoth David on theft charge, Atipo Simon Peter on aggravated defilement, Guma Benson Mambo on stealing vehicle and obtaining money by false pretence, and Wathum Vincent on stealing from a vehicle.

Angucia told ugreports.com that Wathum Vincent was however re-arrested but the other three are still at large.

The police mouthpiece said that a case of escape from lawful custody was registered at Pakwach Police Station under CRB 08/2023.

Angucia added that some relevant statements were recorded, effort to trace for the suspects is on.

The police officer appealed to the general public to assist in the search for the three escapees upon getting their where about to the nearest police station or prisons offices or any other authority should be informed for re-arrest.
