KIRYANDONGO: A fuel truck registration number UBE 861H has this morning caught fire at Kididima village Kigumba Sub County in Kiryandongo district.
According to eyewitnesses, incident occurred at around 7a.m when the tyre of the speeding diesel tank was coming from Kigumba heading towards Masindi jumped off causing the vehicle lost control and later fell.
In the process, a seven year old child from Kididima village Kigumba Sub County, Kiryandongo district was also injured after being knocked by a tyre that had jumped off from the same fuel truck.

The child has been identified as Afoyo Rwoth a primary one pupil of Kididima primary school. The source adds that tyre that continued running at a terrible speed and knocked Afoyo who was going to school injuring him in the process.
He further adds that Afoyo was rushed to the nearby Kididima health center where he is still being treated. By Press time, police from Kiryandongo station tried to put off the fire.
Ug Reports wouldn’t get a comment from ASP Julius Allan Hakiza the Albertine Region Police spokesperson since he had not yet got the information about it. ”I haven’t got information about the accident,” he aserted.
