TESO: The East Kyoga Regional Police commander in charge the districts of Soroti, Bukedea, Kumi, Ngora, Amuria, Katakwi, Kaberamaido, Serere, Kalaki, and Kapelebyong has revealed that the census of the police force pensioners is set to commence within the region under Uganda Police Force in partnership with the Ministry of Public service on the Pensioners who retired and are on Uganda Police Pension payroll.
Gerigory Oscar Ageca, the East Kyoga Public Relations Officer says the exercise will kick start between the 14th and 16th day of July 2022 at East Kyoga Regional Police headquarters stationed at Soroti.
He says the purpose of the exercise is to establish the existence and status of Pensioners and bonafide beneficiaries for those Pensioners who died and are on Police Payroll.
“This results will help in cleaning the payroll and further strengthen the creation of sustainable policies, systems, programmes and strategies for effective management of pension and retirement benefits for Uganda Police Force,” Ageca said.
The police officer also added that those who will not appear for the exercise shall be deleted from the Pension payroll and they will only be reactivated after physical appearance at the Uganda Police Force Headquarters for physical validation.
“All pensioners or beneficiaries should carry and present to the teams and the Copies of original National Identification Cards (NID), Letter of Administration / death certificate for the deceased persons, and Filled copy of life certificates for those living pensioners of 75 years and above”, Ageca added.
