MASINDI: The government of Uganda will inject 650 million shillings in Nyabyeya Forestry College in Budongo sub county Bujenje Constituency Masindi district.
This was disclosed by Bob Kazungu the Senior Forest Officer at the Ministry of Water and Environment while addressing journalists after the 56th graduation of students at Nyabyeya Forestry College on Friday.
He said that the Ministry of Water and Environment is committed to bringing back the former glory of Nyabyeya since it is the only forestry college in the country.
Kazungu noted that the 650million shillings will be used to procure equipment including the saw milling equipment, state of art, building enhanced capacity of the staff quarters, and workers of the saw miller.
He further said that the fund is a support from the World Bank, a financed project investing in forestry and protected areas for climate smart development.
The forestry officer asserted that the six year project will commence in a couple of months at Nyabyeya Forestry College.
Richard Kisakye the Nyabyeya Forestry College Principal commended the Government of Uganda for the support and investing in the college.
Kisakye noted that the developments are due to the peace in the country. ”The development at Nyabyeya Forestry College is due to the peace we have in the country brought by the government,” he asserted.
