HOIMA MP JOINS SPEAKERSHIP RACE

KAMPALA: Hon Pius Wakabi Rujumba Atwooki the Member of Parliament for Bugahya County in Hoima district has joined the race of the 11th Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda.

The politician says that following consultations with the various fellow Members of Parliament and after careful thought, he has decided to offer himself to vie for the position of  Speaker of the 11th Parliament.

”My firm resolve is hinged on the need to have a fair and balanced debate that caters for all interests,” he notes.

Wakabi further states that buttressed by the need to handle national issues with calm and meticulous detail so that every Ugandan is fully and equitably represented in accordance with the spirit of the framers of our Constitution.

Information reaching our news room indicates that Hon. Florence Asiimwe the Woman Member of Parliament for Masindi is also contesting for the same sit in the parliament of Uganda.

So far two members of parliament from Bunyoro subregion have joined the eleven across the country yearning to replace the fallen speaker Jacob Oulanyah.
