HOIMA RESIDENT STATE ATTORNEY’S FILES TORCHED

HOIMA: Police in Hoima City are investigating circumstances under which unidentified people torched over 100 files in the office of the resident state attorney in Hoima City.

The Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson Julius Allan Hakiza confirmed the incident and said the criminals cut the fence and accessed the office through the window.

According to him, the incident happened between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

”They gathered over 100 files and set them on fire. However, the fire didn’t spread to other areas and the building is still intact,” he said.

Hakiza said that after getting the information, the fire brigade team rushed to the scene and set off the fire before spreading to other offices.

The police mouthpiece asserts that they have commenced investigations into the matter.

He asked the public to be vigilant and report suspected criminals to the nearest police station or post.
