KABALE: Residents of Karujabura cell, Mwendo parish Kitumba Sub County Kabale District have raised a red flag over  the alleged  criminal  conducts of their LC1 chairperson, Biryomumisho Anakareti.

This  follows an incident on monday night  in  which Biryomumisho allegedly ganged up with three others and robbed the  night travellers in the area  of their property.

Ndayimana Mark commonly known as Ekitoto,  a Boda-boda rider in Kabale town was one of the victims of Biryomumisho and his group’s actions  after being  severely hacked after dropping a passenger.

Karujabura cell is said to be  a black spot for marijuana smokers and other criminal acts  in Kabale municipality.

The residents who preferred unonimity fearing victimisation by their   violent  chairman accused Biryomumisho of  drunkardness  and sexually harrasing  women in the area.

They also accused  the chairman of  assaulting the residents each time he  gets drunk.

The aggrieved residents also accused  their chairperson of promoting criminal acts in the area citing promoting  drug abuse by shielding the  marijuana smokers and dealers who bribe  him with waragi.

The residents are  therefore pusing for Biryomumisho’s   impeachment  on grounds of incompetence and misconduct  including alcoholism.

The alleged Biryomumisho’s  involvement in robbery forced  the angry Boda-boda riders from  Kabale municipality  to storm his home and   threatened  to burn all his  property if he did not  provide assistance  to their colleague.

Biryomumisho denied participating in Ndayimana’s hacking although he admitted  having been with the men who hacked him.

He however  failed to explain  why he failed to rescue the innocent Boda-boda rider from the robbers he was with although  he has  pledged 1m shillings towards Ndayimana’s treatment.

Speaking to our reporter on his sick bed at Kabale regional referral hospital, Ndayimana revealed that the pang wielding men attacked and hacked  him including the head and arms before jumping on him and his motorcycle.

Ndayimana wants justice by having Biryomumisho arrested so that he can be compelled to repair his  motorcycle and to pay the medical bills he is incurring at Kabale regional referral hospital.
