KABALE TEACHERS WANT EQUAL SALARY ENHANCEMENT

KABALE: Teachers in Kabale district have asked the government to consider equal salary enhancement of both primary and secondary, arts and sciences.

The call was made by Musimenta Amos the district UNATU chairperson on Wednesday during the celebration of teachers day at Kirigime Gardens in Southern division Kabale Municipality Kabale district.

He said the enhanced salary for science teachers has demoralized others adding teachers work under harsh conditions since the government enhanced the salary of science teachers neglecting others.

Musimenta however appealed to teachers to work as a team to promote quality education as the theme of the year ”Transformation of Education begins with teachers”.

The Kabale Municipality UNATU Chairperson Geoffrey Binomugisha revealed that the Municipal teachers are feeling  unhappy due to the delayed salary saying it’s dismotivating them.

The Kabale Deputy Resident District Commissioner Bakaki Ronald aurged teachers whose salaries have been delayed to visit his office.

”The teachers who haven’t received their salaries for more than six months should visit my office for assistance,” he said.
