KASESE RECEIVES 57 COFFEE PULPIER MACHINES FROM THE GOVERNMENT

KASESE: The Government of Uganda through the Agro-Industrialization for Local Economic Development (AGRI-LED) under the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) has donated 57 coffee pulpier machines to Kasese district local government.

The donated coffee machines that were handed over to the District authorities on Wednesday are suitable for cleaning and peeling the skin of coffee beans, cocoa beans, cherry and other materials.

Speaking to www.ugreports.com shortly after handing over the donation, Hadad
S. Ssebunza, the Technical Sales Manager at Musa Body Machinery Uganda Limited, the main suppliers of the donated machines, said the 57 wet processing coffee machines are worth shillings 2.1 billion.

The machines were handed over by the deputy resident district commissioner Joshua Kisembo Masereka to the intended beneficiaries of Bukonzo Organic Farmers’ Cooperative Union which received 22 machines while Mt. Rwenzori Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union received 25 machines. The two groups of Kanone and Bunyakalija in Mbunga sub-county received two machines.

The Kasese District Principal Production Officer, Julius Baluku explained that the donation was part of the pledges to the district in 2019 under the AGRI-LED program.

Josinta Kabugho, the General Manager for Bukonzo Organic Farmers Cooperative Union and Juvenile Kule Rwantangale of Mt. Rwenzori Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union hailed the donors for boosting coffee production in the district.

In his address, the Deputy RDC, Joshua Masereka Kisembo asked the beneficiaries to properly utilize the machines for the benefit of the local community.
