KIKUUBE DISTRICT RECEIVES PPES WORTH SHS835,000

KIKUUBE: The Norwegian Refuge Council (NRC) has Thursday donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) worth Shs835,000 to Kikuube district local government.

The Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) are meant to respond to the deadly COVID19 Disease and other disease out breaks like cholera, diarrhea, ebola and others.

The donated Items include ten litres of sanitizer, ten packets of surgical masks, one litre Jerrican of sanitizer and two cartons of soap.

Eric Kyahinda the NRC Emergency Officer disclosed that the PPEs are provided to support the district task force in the fight against COVID19.

Kyahinda also added that they are going to give the same support to six schools in the camp and six schools in the host communities.

Francis Abitekaniza Kiva the clerk to council who was sitting in for the chief administrative officer commended the continuous support and cooperation NRC has been giving to the district.

He also added that this will awaken the already relaxed communities on adherance to the standard operating procedures put by the ministry of health.

Hon. Vicent Opio Alpha the district vice chairperson who also doubles as the leader of government business appreciated NRC for indulging in the spirited fight against COVID19.

Opio also added that the provision of these PPEs is timely especially now that children are at school and need more of them.

He Pledged for total support and Cooperation with the non governmental organization.
