KIKUUBE: Cheshire Services Uganda is implementing a one year skills project in Kikuube district Bunyoro sub region Western Uganda.

The skills project commenced this year in January and will end in December 2022. Its targeting the youth with disabilities {PWDs} in Kikuube district.

The 12 months project which costs shillings 397.4M is to be implemented in the Refugee and host Communities in Kikuube.

Leonard Byabagambi the Cheshire Programs Manager revealed Saturday that the project is going to focus on increased absorption of skills and development Initiatives.

He added that this will involve Vulnerable Youth, Refugees, Women and Girls through work based training programs, competency enhancement training, entrepreneurial skills and life skills.

”The project will involve the vulnerable youth, refugees, women and girls through based training programs like competency enhancement training, entrepreneurial skills and life skill,” He asserted.

Barungi Edith the District Councillor for persons with disabilities expressed Joy about the project and appreciated Cheshire for remembering the Disabled Youth.

Edith also promised to work hand in hand with the team. ”I will work hand in hand with the team to ensure our people benefit,” She assured.

Opio Vicent Alpha the District Vice Chairperson Embraced the Project added that the Project has been timely at the time the district is from compiling names of children with Disabilities and thus identifying them will be very easy.

”The project has come at the right time since we have just compiled the names of children with disabilities and it will be easy to identify them,” he noted.

He also pledged for total support and cooperation with the non governmental organization.
