KUMI VOCATIONAL ELECTS GUILD CABINET

KUMI: The student body of Glasa vocational training school in Kumi district has conducted the election of the guild council and their cabinet ministers that will oversee the institutional activities on the campus.

The election took place yesterday, chaired by the returning campus officer, Innocent Ogwang.

According to Ogwag, a total of 124 voters were registered to vote, and the voting exercise ended peacefully, whereby Moses Akol emerged as the victor with a total of 83 votes, challenging his rival Abraham Okia, who scored 42 votes.

“This is the first kind of election on this campus, and I want to report openly that the election has ended successfully without any fight”, said Mr. Ogwang.

Abraham Okia, the challenged guild contestant, admitted his defeat, saying the voting exercise was free and fair.

“I am not worried of my brother who has won, I pledge to work together with him and the entire elected ministers”, said Mr Okia.

Mr.Moses Akol the guild elect vow to protect the affairs of the students jointly with the school administration.

“I am elected as a leader to work for all not to work alone, so I promise to deliver good services to the dear students and the school at large”, said Mr.Akol.

However, some of the students who participated in the voting say the voting was free and fair.
