By George Emuron

BUKEDEA: Leaders in Kangole Sub County in Bukedea district have raised concern and appealed to the government through the office of the resident district commissioner to improvise them with guns in order to enable them to guard themselves against the Karamojong cattle rustler’s warriors in their communities.

According to the leaders, the Karamojong warriors have attacked areas of Kangole parish, Amodingot and so far killed a total of four people in the community.

Michael Ocan, the local council three chairperson, said waiting for the government to deploy army officers in the community would not help since the government has got a lot of emergencies whereby after a min time the army officer would be withdrawn out of the area without helping the community to handle the insecurity threats.

Ocan also added that in order to ensure peace in the community, the government should improvise the group of the community members with guns and training.

“Waiting for the government to deploy an army will not help, let the government avail us with guns to manage our security”, said Mr. Ocan.

Hajji. Imran Muluga, the resident district commissioner Bukedea during an interview with ugreports said the leadership request received by his office but it’s still pending since according to the government laws, guns are only handled by responsible officers.
