LIGHTNING KILLS TWO IN KASESE

KASESE: Two pupils have been struck dead by lightning at Mother Gives Nursery and Primary School and several injured in Kihungamiyagha village, Kyarumba sub-county in Kasese district.

The incident happened this afternoon following a heavy downpour that befell the area.

Margret Twikirize the school head teacher told ugreports.com that the incident happened when the learners had just returned to their classes after having lunch. ‘’The learners had just returned from lunch before the incident,’’ she explained.

According to Twikiriza, one pupil died on spot while the other died along the way as she was being rushed to a health facility. ‘’One pupil died on spot, while the second one died on the way being rushed to the health center for medication.’’ She disclosed.

She identified the deceased as Janet Mbambu, a 13 year-old pupil in Primary four and Joan Muhindo, who was in primary three. ‘’One of the teachers identified as Joy Mbambu was left with chest pain,’’ she asserted.
