LOCAL GOV’T DRIVER COMMITS SUICIDE IN ARUA

MARACHA: Police in Arua district are investigating circumstances under which the Maracha district local government driver committed suicide.

The police spokesperson for West Nile Region Ms. Josephine Angucia identified the deceased as Adiba John, 30 years old.

According to Angucia, the incident happened at an unknown time on Wednesday in Ajono-yivu village, Eruba Parish, Vurra Subcounty, Arua district.

The police officer said the matter was reported to police by his brother who woke up to see the deceased hanging on a mango tree in their compound at 7:00am.

She said police acted by visiting the scene and documented it adding that relevant statements were recorded at the scene.

Police retrieved the motor vehicle registration number LG 0316_03 of Maracha district from the scene and parked it at Vurra Police Station in Arua district.

Angucia said the deceased’s body was conveyed to Arua Regional Referral Hospital mortuary pending post-mortem adding inquiries have commenced under Vurra Police Station CRB 13/2023.
