MALARIA CASES WORRY KIBAALE AUTHORITIES

KIKUUBE:  The authorities in Kibaale district are worried over the increase in malaria cases saying the figures are alarming.

The Current statistics indicate that the malaria cases registered in Kibaale district are 1,830 in a period of one month of April which is too high.

This was revealed during a Malaria District Task Force engagement meeting held at the district headquarters with Officials from the Ministry of Health in a Campaign against Malaria, Chaired by the RDC Kibaale District Angalia Godwin Kasigwa.

Angalia says that despite the fact that the government has always provided mosquito nets to the population free of charge, most people have not utilized them effectively.

According to him Kibaale District received 198,520 Mosquito nets and plans for distribution have started.

RDC Angalia has warned the distributors not just to dump or sell off the Mosquito nets cautioning the beneficiaries to utilize the mosquitoes well to curtail the spread of Malaria which is killing many Ugandans.
