MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDERING SON

KAZO: Police in Kazo district is holding a 30-year-old father on allegations of murder by cutting off the neck of his 3-year-old boy child.
Samson Kasasira, the police spokesperson for Rwizi region has identified the suspect as Nuwahereza Tumuramye John, a resident of Buremba central Kijooha ward Buremba Town Council in Kazo District, whereas the deceaseds as Mwesigye Johnson, a male juvenile.
The incident happened yesterday in Buremba village at around 9:45hrs.
Kusasira explains that the deceased was picked from his grandmother’s home by his father (Tumuramye) together with the cousin, Vivian Joel aged, 4 years, to go and collect maize from the garden, but on returning home, the deceased was nowhere to be seen prompting the grandmother to carry out a search for him in the garden knowing the father has a history of seasonal mental illness.

Up on searching, the deceased was found staggering while bleeding from the neck where he had a deep cut and couldn’t talk. He was rushed to the nearby clinic for treatment and later pronounced dead.
A case of murder vide Kazo CRB114/2022 was reported to Kazo police station by Behairaho Fedrensi, the deceased grandmother.
Residents also said the suspect is a known patuent of mental illnesses something they allege resulted into the stressful act. Police arrived at the scene of the crime, recorded a statement from the witnesses and arrested the suspect.
Tumuramye is currently being detained at Kazo Central Police Station as inquiries into the matter continues.
