BULIISA: The Police in Biiso town council Buliisa District has arrested Joel Oyirwoth 20years on allegations of stealing money worth shillings 19 million belonging to an Indian business man.
Its reported that Bazee Muhammad an Indian man dealing in merchandise operating along Hoima – Biiso – Butiaba – Wanseko road lost shillings 19 million on Monday evening and suspected to have been stolen by Joel Oyirwoth.
Francis Mworiem, the OC CID at Biiso Police station told ugreports Tuesday that the suspect is a resident of Nyamasoga B village Biiso sub county.
The police officer also explained that the alleged suspect robbed an indian business man a bag containing money on Monday at midday.
”This is the second time arresting this gentleman, at first he escaped from the custody,” he asserted.
Mworiem further told this online news outlet that out of the shillings 19million, they have only recovered five million five hundred seventy two thousand shillings only.
Mary Karungi, Maculet Kusemererwa and Ayebale Nyangoma among other residents say they are worried over increased theft cases since their properties are being stolen.
Josephat Musinguzi, a welder in Biiso town council says his metallic doors were also stolen, he asked the leaders to intervene into the matter.
Peter Okech the Mayor Biiso town council who also doubles as the head of security condemned the act, saying he will present the issue to security meeting to mount operations and arrest the idlers and disorderly youth noting that it’s against the law.
