MAN COLLAPSES, DIES ON SPOT AT KABALE HOSPITAL

KABALE: The Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which an unidentified male adult suddenly collapsed and died on his way from Kabale Regional referral Hospital.

According to Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, on Sunday at around 3pm, the deceased was seen walking from the hospital and when he reached at the hospital staff quarters, after the road to the mortuary with in the foot path to town, near the residence of principal nursing officer, Sister Florence Lamunu, he failed to continue walking and decided to sit down.

Maate adds that however, when the neighbors and shop attendants near the Referral Hospital tried to interact with him, he could not respond, which made them think that he was mentally sick and others thought that he was drunk thus ignoring him seated until {today} Monday morning, when they found him lying dead.

Matte says that police were notified by Wilson Tumwebaze, a boda boda rider who witnessed the scene while taking a child to All saints kindergarten primary school, from hospital staff quarters.
He told the press that scene was visited by police, body retrieved and taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem as investigations into the matter continue.

The case of sudden death was registered at Kabale central police station under reference number CRB 214/2022.
