MAN DROWNS WHILE CROSSING FLOODED ROAD IN KIKUUBE
The regional police spokesperson said that the body could have been buried in the mud or swept into Lake Albert.

KIKUUBE: Police in Kikuube district are investigating an incident in which a 42-year-old man drowned in a flooded road in Sebagoro landing site, Nkondo parish in Kabwoya sub-county.
The Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, Julius Allan Hakiza, identified the deceased as Openji Mungu, a resident of the same area.
Hakiza told this online publication on Monday afternoon that it’s alleged that on March 31, 2023, at around 19:30 hours, the deceased was trying to cross a road that was full of running water after a heavy downpour, and the water overpowered and swept him.

The regional police spokesperson said that the body could have been buried in the mud or swept into Lake Albert.
Hakiza revealed that, according to police observation, the deceased might have underestimated the running water, adding that the search is still on to recover the body.
The police officer cautioned the general public not to underestimate water, especially during this rainy season.
