MAN HACKED TO DEATH IN KAKUMIRO

Ssempewo was a renowned boda boda cyclist in Kisiita town council and was hacked for unknown reasons.

KAKUMIRO: Residents of Kyabalitwa Cell in Kisiita town council have been engulfed with shock and grief this morning after unknown assailants hacked a 23-year-old man to death.

The deceased has been identified as Justus Ssempewo, 23, a resident of Kyabalitwa cell, Kisiita town council, Kakumiro district.

Ssempewo was a renowned boda boda cyclist in Kisiita town council and was hacked for unknown reasons.

It’s alleged that he was butchered last night while at Kisiita Pentecostal Church, alias the Church of Ntungura, where he is said to have spent a night worshiping.

John Baptist Biryomumisho, the LC1 chairperson, told our reporter that he was alerted by other residents at around 7:30 a.m. and reached there to find Ssempewo killed in cold blood.

He called upon the residents to always intervene whenever they hear an alarm calling for help.

Wilson Ssebaduka, a father to the deceased, told ugreports that he was a well-behaved boy at home and in the community, but he was battling with the cases of his burned motorcycle and was supposed to go to court today.

ASP Peter Kayemba, the OC station for Kisiita police station, has condemned the evil act, asserting that the police are to kick-start the investigations and make sure that the culprits are brought to book for family justice.

He asked the residents to help the police with investigations in case they had any information.

By press time, the Kakumiro police had reached the scene with a sniffer dog, taken the body to Albertine Hospital for a postmortem, and later had it taken by relatives for burial.
