NAPAK: Police in Napak district are holding a man for allegedly strangling his biological sons and dumping them by the road side.
The Karamoja region police spokesperson AIP Mike Longole has identified the suspect Richard Epeu 29, a resident of Alilioi village, Moru-inera parish, Orungo sub-county in Amuria district.
Longole says the suspect is alleged to have strangled his sons 11-year old Pius Epeu and 9-year old Eselu Emmanuel.
According to the police mouthpiece, Epeu Richard after committing the crime using a wire, dumped the children at Alekilek in Iriir sub-county.
”The children were rescued by a businessman at night as he embarked on a business trip to Katakwi district,” he asserted.
Epeu Luis-one of the survivors says their father dumped them using a yet to be identified taxi but his brother Eselu Emmanuel was later discovered at a good samaritan’s place in Olilim trading centre.
Longole says the suspect was tracked by police and arrested in Nakatunya-Soroti, where he was later transferred to Napak central police station, awaiting to be arraigned before court to answer charges of attempted murder.
