MASINDI DISTRICT LANDS OFFICER DIES AFTER COLLAPSING DURING MEETING

MASINDI: Masindi district senior lands management officer James Mugoya has died after collapsing during the quarterly standing committee meeting held at the district council chambers on Wednesday.

According to sources at the district headquarters, Mugoya, 52, felt unconscious before being rushed to Supreme Medical Centre in Masindi town for attention.

The district communications officer Brian Atuhura told this website that Mugoya was later rushed to the above medical centre for treatment from where he was referred to Mulago national referral hospital where he died Thursday night.

Atuhura says that according to the deceased’s relatives, Mugoya has been battling with diabetes.

This website has learnt that Mugoya was diagnosed with blood clots in the brain and the doctors were still trying to stabilise him so that they could operate on them.

The body was still lying at Mulago hospital mortuary at the time of publishing this story as arrangements to transport it to Bulambuli district for burial on Sunday.

According to a postmortem report, the deceased succumbed to high blood pressure.

The late had served Masindi district for more than 22 years at the time of his death.
