MASINDI: Police in Masindi district, Western uganda are holding a headteacher for allegedly defiling his own two pupils who are in boarding.
Hosea Kiiza, the headteacher St. Kizito Primary School Murro in Bwijanga sub county was arrested on Sunday on allegations of defiling the minors aged 13 and 15 years, both primary seven pupils at the catholic church founded government aided school.
Mrs. Lovious Muganyizi, a parent of the 15-year-old victim told UGReports that the suspect picked her child from the school and took her to Kinenabuhere village without her knowledge and consent where he spent a night with her.
Muganyizi added that on interrogating, the victim confessed to having had sex with the the headteacher which prompted her to take her child for a medical examination which showed that the child had had sex.
”Later I reported the matter to Bwijanga police post, and was referred to Masindi Central Police Station,” she added.
According to Mr. Christopher Katusiime, a parent of the 13-year-old victim and a resident of Kyakabande village , after hearing the rumours of him defiling the pupils circulating in the area, the suspect called him and accused his child of sleeping with men and that she had been redhanded caught sleeping with a man.
”Upon interrogation, the child denied Kiiza’s claims and instead accused him of playing sex with her,”Katusuume added .
The aggrieved parent also claims that the headteacher has been ordering the learner to lay his bed for him at the school which made her an easy pray for him.
Katusiime added that following the rumours about him, the headteaher convened a meeting on Sunday to dispel the rumours but he was arrested after the meeting.
Katusime further revealed that he has recorded a statement against the headteacher at Masindi Central Police Station and was planning to take the child for a medical test.
”I haven’t got a medical report but i have already recorded a statement at the police,” he added.
Adolf Kato, the Masindi District Education Officer confirmed the arrest of his headteacher but he was yet to get the details about it.
”I heard of the rumours and i was planning to visit the school this week, but I got a call that the headteacher had been arrested on Sunday,” Kato said.
The Albertine region Police Spokesperson, the Julius Allan Hakiza confirmed Kiiza’s arrest revealing that inquiries were underway into the matter.
”The suspect was arrested on Sunday and he is in our custody at Masindi Central Police Station,” he confirmed.
Kiiza has beeN accused of defiling pupils in several schools he has been deployed to in the district and the accusations have severally influenced his tranfers from those school.
Such schools include Mihembero and Byerima, both in Bwijanga sub county.
