By Our Reporter

MASINDI: Julius Muhumuza alias DJ Julie formerly working with Radio Kitara FM 96.9 Masindi has been laid to rest at his ancestral home in Bujenje County Masindi district.

He passed on at Mulago National Referral Hospital on Tuesday where he was battling with brain cancer. Muhumuza has been in the media for 21 years.

Mrs. Sauda Kababiito the widow to the late dismissed allegations that her husband died of neglect saying that the family and the media fraternity did whatever they could through collecting money for the operation and paid regular attention to the late.

‘’My husband didn’t die due to the neglect, family members and the media fraternity did whatever they could to save his life through collecting money for the operation but unfortunately he passed on,’’ she said.

According to Margaret Barungi the former Radio Kitara station manager, the medics at Mulago National Referral Hospital tried their level best to save his life but unfortunately he passed on.

Barungi further warned mourners to always be cautious when pronouncing people dead, this follows the reports that circulated early this month that Muhumuza had died.

‘’We should be cautious when pronouncing people dead when they are still alive rather than pray for quick recovery,’’ she said.

Barungi described the late as a humble, simple and hardworking man who loved his job. ‘’I have been with the late for 21 years, he was a humble, simple and hardworking man who loved his job,’’ said Birungi.

Hon. Joab Businge the Member of Parliament for Masindi Municipality challenged the media practitioners to always be humble and polite when serving the communities instead of bragging which won’t be of benefit.

This is the second death in the media fraternity in Masindi within six days after the murder of Late Gerald Aseera who was gunned down last week by the private security guard attached to Blue Whale Security Ltd who was manning Coca-Cola Depot Masindi branch.
